RECENT NAME CHANGE

For years this pageant was called Miss Louisiana Forest Festival. However, many other pageants which were not affiliated with the Miss America System also had the Forest Festival name. This seemed to dilute the importance of this Miss Louisiana Scholarship preliminary and therefore the name has been changed to Miss Governor City Louisiana. We are proud of our affiliation with the Louisiana Forest Festival, however, we felt that it was time for the contestants to represent more than just the festival. We decided that we wanted a Representative of Winn Parish.

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTORS:

Miss Governor City Louisiana is an official preliminary to Miss Louisiana America. Both are associated with the Miss America Scholarship Organization, which awards more scholarships to young women than any other organization in the country.

Without volunteers none of these pageants would be possible. The Board Members of the Miss Governor City Louisiana Scholarship Organization would like to thank everyone that volunteered of their time and energy to make the pageant possible.

Our special thanks go out to our emcee, George Wyatt. We also thank and acknowledge our auditors for their contribution. They are Stacey Olden from Sabine State Bank in Winnfield and Kathy White she who is with the Winn Parish School System.

A very special thank you is also extended to Miss Teen Louisiana, Blair Abene for traveling to Winnfield and assisting us wih the pageant
